Celebrating a Lifetime of Motorsport Dedication – Margaret Duckworth

For over 50 years, Margaret Duckworth has devoted her time, energy and passion to the world of motorsport. Her contribution spans decades, with more than 40 of those years spent taking on vital behind-the-scenes roles that keep events running smoothly and communities thriving.

Throughout her journey, Margaret has worn many hats—serving as a club secretary, treasurer, entries secretary, marshal and member of the timing crew. She has even taken on the unofficial yet much-appreciated role of “Chief Brew Maker,” ensuring that the spirit of camaraderie remained strong in every paddock and gathering.

Beyond her official duties, Margaret’s greatest impact may well be the guidance and encouragement she has offered to others. Over the years, she has helped introduce countless young enthusiasts to the diverse and exciting world of motorsport. From grassroots activities such as treasure hunts and gymkhanas to more competitive environments like road rallies and stage rallies, she has always been a supportive and knowledgeable presence.

Known for her approachable nature, Margaret has consistently made herself available to answer questions, offer advice and connect others with the right people when needed. Her willingness to help has left a lasting impression on everyone she has worked with.

In recognition of her unwavering commitment, dedication, and invaluable contributions, Margaret is a truly deserving recipient of the Brian Molyneux award. Her years of service have not only supported motorsport as a whole but have also played a significant role in the success and spirit of the SD34 Motorsport Group.
